Patch Testing

A patch test must be carried out a minimum of 24-48 hours before the lash extension treatment.

The patch test is done by attaching a few lashes to the corner of both eyes.

Top Tip – Allow the fumes to disappear before the client opens their eyes.

If any reaction occurs the therapist should be informed and treatment should be cancelled.

Remember to get a signature from the client on the consultation card to say the patch test is ok and no reaction has occurred if this is the case, be sure to add the dates of the patch test and treatment.

 Always check your insurance policy wording to ensure that you are complying with any specific patch testing warranties that are contained within it.

Remember also to repeat the patch test if you change any of your the products that you use to carry out treatments as they may contain active ingredients that may cause irritation to some clients.
