Client Eyelash Homecare

No water should come into contact with the eyelashes for 24 hours after the treatment. 

Some brands have retention products that can allow the client to get their lashes wet straight after the lash treatment, always follow the manufactures guidelines of your chosen products.

Clients must not pull or drag eyelashes off and also avoid rubbing the eyes.

Gently cleanse the eyes with oil free makeup remover.

Lashes must be removed by therapist.

The client can sign a home care leaflet to say they understand the advice that has been given.

Clients must wash their lashes daily with a cleanser or shampoo that is suitable to for use with lash extensions. 

Clients must brush their lashes daily.

The first 24-48 hours are crucial to the bonding procedure

For 48 hours after the treatment do not steam the face, use steam bath, swim or wash with hot water.

Eyelash tinting must be done prior to the lash application.

The client should not wear mascara for the first 24 hours after the treatment.

An eyelash curler should not be used on the lash extensions.

The bond of the lash extension to the natural lash is so strong that if the lash is pull out it the glue bond will not break and the natural lash will be pulled out along with the extension.

Gel and cream eyeliners and eye shadows etc may cause the lash glue to break down.

To remove makeup use an oil free makeup remover and avoiding touching the eyelashes.

TOP TIP –  Remember emollients, creams, and oils are the eyelash glues worst enemy.  Use eye creams sparingly and avoid lid and lash area.  Wash and brush through eyelashes daily

CLIENT CLEANING & AFTERCARE ADVICE

Clients should clean their lash extensions every day.

1. Remove excess makeup above and under the eyes.

2. Use a shampoo or cleanser formulated for eyelash extensions using a soft lash brush in a gentle downwards motion to remove dirt from lash extensions.  Do not rub back and forth too hard. 

3. Rinse thoroughly with cold water until all excess shampoo or cleanser is removed.  Repeat if required.

4. Carefully pat the lashes dry.  Do not rub them.

5.  Using a mascara wand brush the lashes upwards to de-tangle any lashes.

Repeat every day to avoid bacteria etc.
